The fourth generation MBUX opens up a new world of personalised experiences and intuitive interaction between people and vehicle. It is the first in-car infotainment system to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) from both Microsoft and Google, thus uniting multiple AI agents in a single system. It offers maximum flexibility for the seamless integration of third-party content by keeping the signature Mercedes-Benz interface.

MB.DRIVE gives customers the opportunity to expand the functionality of advanced driver assistance systems. Starting with the MMA platform, the all-new CLA will be equipped with multiple sensors and cameras to enable partially automated driving up to SAE Level 2 (in selected markets) and comfortable parking assistance. This allows customers to choose between two MB.DRIVE ASSIST and two MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST packages – either right from the point of vehicle handover, or conveniently on demand via software updates over-the-air.

The MBUX SURROUND NAVIGATION offers a new level of visual communication. With MB.OS integration, it shows the vehicle and surroundings in real time, combining driving assistance with 3D route guidance in the driver’s display. It displays other road users and uses 3D graphics for an intuitive overview, enhancing situational awareness and trust in autonomous driving.

The MBUX Superscreen is powered by state-of-the-art high-performance chips and real-time graphics from the Unity 3D-Engine. The new control and display concept is tailored to individual customer preferences. The further developed MBUX Zero Layer on the central display shows the most important information, suggestions and, for the first time, the most recently used apps.

This assistant can regulate the distance to the vehicle in front and the speed for you. It can also adapt the speed to the course of the route and make it easier for you to follow in traffic queues or traffic jams. The system therefore makes life easier for you and assists you in both flowing and slow-moving traffic.

Traffic Sign Assist extends the speed limit warning. It can recognise traffic signs for no-entry zones and pedestrian crossings and warn you if you want to enter roads in the opposite direction. This provides you with support, especially in complex or unclear driving situations.

In the event of an impending accident, PRE-SAFE®[1]takes measures that can reduce the strain on you and your passengers. For example, the system can tighten the seat belts or can initiate closing the windows. The innovative PRE-SAFE® Sound can protect the inner ear by dampening the noise of the accident.

Pamper yourself and your front passengers with a soothing massage programme – for example on long journeys or after a strenuous day. The function utilises the inflatable air chambers in the seat backrests.

The selfie and video camera supports you in everyday life with your Mercedes. Using facial recognition, for example, it enables uncomplicated access to your user profile. You can take part in video conferences with your own picture and capture unforgettable moments on road trips with selfies or video clips. The camera records both front seats.
